Theatre Costume
Date created: March 2026
Personal project: Inspired by the interior design of a theatre, this project was created for a Phantom of the Opera themed historical ball.
The chandelier headpiece is made of wire, tape and papier-mâché and has working lights that are attached via magnets to the base of the flowers.
The dress is made from upcycled fabrics to resemble the curtains and trims around a theatrical stage.
The painting of the stage set is made with oil paint on primed calico fabric.
I really wanted to have fun with this project and include a wide range of different skills and mediums I enjoy. The headpiece is my favourite part of the costume and it came out exactly how I envisioned. I would love to add more to the painting and the rest of the dress, as in my original design sketch, and update this page at a later date. This costume came together in roughly two weeks, alongside other university projects.
